Staff at the heart of our care home

We recognise that the quality of our staff is crucial for the quality of our services.

The Walton Heath Manor team is led by our Registered manager, Teresa Wilson, who is supported by her deputy, our care coordinators and our administrator. Our owner, David Edmondson, works actively with Teresa and the staff team and together we constantly search for ways to improve and enhance our service.

We maintain high levels of staffing so that we have the resources to provide each of our residents with the time and attention necessary to fully meet their individual care and support needs. It is only in exceptional circumstances that the home ever engages agency staff. The vast majority of our staff hold a Health and Social Care Diploma or NVQ qualification.

Our staff are encouraged to extend their training beyond normal parameters, with the massive benefit that all our staff, whether they be carers, housekeepers, chefs, activities assistants or maintenance personnel, can play an active role in providing pastoral care for our residents.

Because the comfort, safety and security of our residents is always a priority we ensure that Walton Heath Manor is always maintained to the highest standards. We have invested heavily in our facilities and our technology in support of these objectives.

Additional support and considerations

As part of the support we provide to each resident, we prepare a health profile including their medical history and any current conditions, as well as details of any medication or treatment required. A care plan is prepared and then constantly reviewed. The care plan covers all the resident’s needs, physical, social, psychological and spiritual. Subject to the consent of the resident we consult with the resident’s family and their advocates to ensure the care plan includes and addresses all the resident’s personal needs and preferences.

Residents moving to Walton Heath Manor from the surrounding area or further afield may wish to remain with their own GP, where practical, or to register with our own GP, local to our care home in Tadworth. We contract with the local medical centre in order to provide easy and enhanced access to GP care. Alternatively, they may prefer to use the services of a private doctor, funding this themselves.

A district nursing team is available to visit when required as are a number of specialist nurses. Additional therapy services – such as Physiotherapy, Dietetics and Speech Therapy – are also available on GP referral.
